thirsty thursday: summer sips

The hubs and I  have our family vacation coming up soon, so we’ve been researching lots of fun cocktails and other tasty concoctions to whip up during our time away! After all, it is the time to kick back, relax, and enjoy the sunshine and company of loved ones, am I right? I thought it might be fun to share some of our bookmarked recipes with you all – we’ll be trying them, you all will ::hopefully:: try them, and we can all report back and share thoughts!

Let’s break it down, shall we?

Cucumber Ginger Gin Popsicles {via shutterbean}

…this is probably one of my favorites! Cool and refreshing, crisp and light – perfect for after a long day spent on the water!

Banana, Leche y Cafe con Chocolate {via joy the baker}

…smoothies for dessert! A little chocolate, a little banana, and you’re set! Pair with with a splash or two of your favorite cream liqueur and you have the perfect hot summer night icy drink!

Grapefruit Shandy {via a cozy kitchen}

…the combination of summer beer and tart grapefruit is so intriguing! I love a good shandy, and I have no doubt this one will be a winner!

Bufala Negra {via food & wine}

…I have been on a huge bourbon kick lately {it’s about time, after 5 years or so of learning to appreciate so I can enjoy it with the hubs!}. Bourbon makes the perfect drinks to sip, slowly, sitting on the porch and watching the sun set.

Fresh Mint Iced Coffee {via how sweet eats}

…Jessica totally hits the nail on the head with this one! I’ll admit, I was a little curious about this when I first saw it, but {per usual} she’s won me over. I may even liven this up with a bit of coffee liqueur, who knows!

Green Smoothie with Spinach, Pear, and Ginger {via the kitchn}

…for those mornings when we need a bit of a reset. Whether it was a big and filling the night before, or just craving something fresh, this juice.knocks.it.out.of.the.park. The greener, the better!

mimosas {via kitchen konfidential}

…because every Sunday summer morning {well, who am I kidding? – and Sunday deserves one of these!} deserves a leisurely time spent sipping a mimosa and enjoying table conversation with the family. Jazz it up and add all sorts of extra fresh fruit for even more fun and color!

Raspberry Basil Mojito {via a beautiful mess}

…I am a basil FREAK. So is the hubs. So it’s only natural we throw a bit of that goodness into a beverage! It perfectly complements the sweet, yet slightly tart, tang of the fresh raspberries.

Happy browsing! I’d love to hear what fun drinks you all are whipping up this summer! Whether it’s boozy or not, healthy or not, take the time to enjoy every sip! Cheers, and happy Thursday, dears!
